Our Great Great Grandfather Joseph Wilson was married twice and the only record of his marriages is from the Kirk Session accounts registers. When he married Jane Connor in 1843 at Airdrie they paid the Kirk 3 shilling and six pence to be married. Some 7 years later when Joseph married Christina Penman, also at Airdrie, they paid 19 shillings and six pence for the privilege!!
